After two forced pictures in basic training and other than one I purposely posed in, looking mean and with several guns, I refused to have my picture taken in Army uniform. This was mainly difficult in South Korea, where photographers were haunting us, taking photos for the 833rd Ordnance Company 1970 yearbook.
I had been sitting with my friends, Alex, Ray and Milt, but when I saw the photographer coming, I left him only my empty chair. |
Another day I wasn't so lucky. I saw the photographer out of the corner of my eye just before he snapped the picture. All I could do was quickly turn away. |
Then the sneaky picture taker actually came into the barracks.
Can you find me in this picture?

That's my arm back there. Peace. |
