HAM

After visiting Abraham Lincoln’s boyhood home in Indiana, where they all watched an informational video on the Civil War, Micki and the kids went to Holiday World in (the town of) Santa Claus. Our daughters, Glory and Disa, were there walking along and were passing a black family. Disa (then 6-years-old) ran up to them and excitedly said, “Ham Lincoln saved your life!” The woman cracked up laughing while the rest of the family had puzzled looks on their faces, and Glory ushered Disa away with embarrassed apologies. Glory looked back to see the wife whisper in her husband’s ear, and he let out a loud, “Oooooooh!” and laughed.
