My wife Micki bought me a new tarantula. (My last one died in an unsuccessful molt.) This one is a Mexican Golden Red-Rump, Brachypelma albiceps. It's only half-grown so I don't know its sex, but in hopes I refer to her as female. I've named her Bugbear, which means: Anything arousing terror, especially groundless terror.
Remember, the terror of the tarantula is groundless.
