While camping and hungry, Aubrey tried tasting an earthworm, and she liked it!
She rolled over a log, knowing that bears eat grubs, and she found she liked them, too!
She talked her mother into trying them, and both liked them, as well as grasshoppers, and they even fried and tried a tarantula that happened by.
Aubrey and her mother managed to cut the food bill a lot, just by being open to trying free critters they found outside. They prepared earthworms.

and even tarantulas, which they collected over time and saved by freezing.
And they would eat like royalty. My family and I would often join them.
We went home afterwards to begin planning our next menu. It was a great dinner. Actually, my favorite are the grubs.
