We just finished rewatching all the episodes of the IN THE BEGINNING Animated Bible Series on CCC's VHS tapes. This series that began in 1984 is wonderful and accurate. Although the legendary manga artist and animator Osamu Tezuka was not a Christian, the Vatican requested him to make an adaptation of the Bible. Osamu Tezuka died in 1989 so the work was continued by Osamu Dezaki, also not a Christian. Yet together they put together a very faithful rendering that carries us through the Old Testament up to the birth of Jesus.
I haven't found where this entire series is available online or on DVD - perhaps it is - but we are so thankful to have a VHS player in good working order.
I wish I could climb high enough to reach how highly I recommend this series.
